Miss Rylee Sue has turned 6 months. I find this sad yet exciting. Sad because I want it to be April 29th when I first held her wrinkly 8 lb sweet little body as a baby, yet exciting b/c she is so fun to watch explore, learn and grow every day. Not too much has changed besides her being able to sit up by her self, 2 teeth, more chatting, rolling, grabbing, eating, and smiles. I have lost the ability to wear any danglie earrings or wear my hair down as it usually results in gobs being yanked away from my skull revealing a nice bald spot. I have a permanent tender spot of missing and badly bruised hair follicles.
As an anticipation for her 6 month birthday, Rylee decided to give Mom a nice little present last night. I'm not going to elaborate but make this a quick post as I feel our conversations have shifted directions and quite frequently contain this subject area.
Steve had two friends stop over last night that were in from Canada visiting and finishing up some school work they are doing here in the cities. Steve and his dude friend were chatting it up while the dudette friend, who was so extremely sweet and as you will find out understanding, came and helped give Rylee a bath. We go about our normal business and have a really fun bath time, Rylee is showing off and smiling and being all playful and giggly, at the first eye rub I take Rylee out of the tub to get her ready for bed. As I lay her on her nice, fresh smelling orange puppy dog ear towel, she decides to show off and lift both legs to her mouth, just then she decides to so generously squirt a nice juicy #2 all over her towel and let it fly in direct backside aim on our tub. I was just thankful it wasn't me!
As I'm horrified not b/c Rylee just did that but b/c our wonderful guest just had to witness this, I hold back Rylee's legs with my foot, stretch as far as a can and grab a rag, wet it down, and clean up and throw her back in the tub. All the while the sweet dudette acts like nothing happened.
But she was probably thinking in her head "Good Lord I'm never having children if I have to clean up this kind of mess!"
Thanks for the birthday present Rylee. I really do appreciate it.
Good thing you are so sweet.
