Motivational Monday

Good afternoon friends and family.

I hope this email finds you well after a successful journey in the walk of life last week.  I threw out a challenge to all of you on this email thread to set and accomplish short term goals last week and set your eyes on long term accomplishments.  How did you do?  Find a mirror and ask yourself the question in private.  Reflect…answer yourself honestly.  The best part about this private conversation is it holds only you accountable.  Continue to strive towards your goals this week!

Watch this amazing clip below.  It lasts only 2 minutes and 38 seconds.  It represents so much!  Your heart is sure to be thumping!

In video sequence, I see accomplishment (making track championship), practice, energy, training, commitment, determination and then the fall at the 1:07 marks.  The fall represents failure, disappointment, sadness, heart break, shame, embarrassment.  It took 3 seconds (1:10 mark) for this athlete to enter back into the picture.  Three seconds to stand up and take off.  See, this athlete is trained to settle for nothing but success just as you are and/or are capable of.

There is something in your world that has happened to you in last day, month, year, or years.  You have suffered set back through a death in the family, a hospitalization, possible money issues, loss of job, failure at work, failure in a class, etc.  It has happened now get up like this athlete and take off and fix the problem.
I would be telling you a complete lie if I said that this was easy to do.  At the 1:10 mark, she takes off focusing on one thing, the finish and the reward.  There wasn’t one time where she looked to her left or right.  She didn’t care about the other competitors.  She didn’t show the hurt she was feeling for three seconds.  She cared about the finish line and ran through it setting out what she accomplished to do, win!

Run through this week aiming to accomplish your goals personally and professionally.  You may fall down.  You may suffer set back.  You may feel the sting.  Don’t dwell on it.  Remember your goals you set out to accomplish.  Now, you can either find a way to accomplish them or make a way.  The choice is yours!

Be the change.
With Respect,
Dus
