The Beach

Rylee and I have been heading to the local beach a lot lately.  Partly b/c she can crawl around and not worry about having shoes and pants on and partly Mom just wanting to get out of the house and soak up some sun.  Plus she absolutely loves the water!

Steve and I took her for the first time to feel the sand between her toes and the splashes in her face last Sunday late afternoon.  The water was still a little bit chilly but it didn't take her long before she became a little fish.  She even does the little fishy face we taught her in the water :)  Granted this little fish needs a floaty to swim and the swimming is more like being a buoy.  But she loves it and splashes and about squeals and squirms her way out to freedom in the big open lake.

You can't quite see any expression of excitement in Rylee's face in these photos but trust me... there was some.  She's just annoyed by mom taking pictures.

Luckily daddy has big biceps (which he'll absolutely hate that I wrote that) and can handle this little chub and swim with her.  Mine failed and were too weak.  They just jiggle in the wind now.

She also loves to just sit on the sand and play with the shovel and bucket.  And even the rocks that we attempt to chew.  Today we headed there and she even started crawling her way out into the deep but realized the water doesn't part quite like it did in her little bible story for Moses.

I've also come to the conclusion that I just love to look at those cute little chub legs in a swimsuit.  That might be the main reason we've been heading to the beach so much.

So thank you daddy for working so hard so we can enjoy some fun in the sun.  I'm sure it's not fun sitting in an office while we are basking in the sun.
