Oh how busy we are now that Rylee is 16 months and walking up a storm. We still walk like this...
Hands up, wide legged, like we might fall at any moment.
But she's cruising every where... no running yet. At first we had to keep reminding her that she can walk but now it's become natural and she's liking her freedom. I'm afraid however that her running will start right about the time when I'm swollen and huge and can't see my feet and the thought of even running will make me piddle my pants. (TMI...sorry)
We've even ventured into places we shouldn't be.
And leaving things where they shouldn't go.
Steve thought that was my pregnancy brain kicking in... He seriously asked if I was "loosing it."
For the most part Rylee is still as sweet as can be with a few more temper-not-quite-tantrums thrown in the mix. We throw ourselves on the floor and just lay there with a huge scowl and sometimes a few tears. We can usually get over it pretty fast without giving in too.
But we have embarked on a new adventure with Rylee. Potty training. And she's the one who has initiated it. We aren't in full force. But we do have the potty chair out and ready for when she tells us she has to go. We have the #2s down pretty good. The potty... not so much. I do think once summer busy life ends we'll try a little harder. Just seems weird to be training a 16 month old. But she seems to be ready.
She has also gotten into her blocks a lot more. And not just tearing down my creations!
We could also spend hours playing with our cars. We have a stroller and three cars that we rotate between. But I have to be sitting on the front step otherwise we freak out. Mom has to be in eye sight for her to play alone. Even if we are indoors... or basically anywhere.
She's become a little adventurous too. getting into the big toys.
And absolutely LOVES the park.
And the water, beach, sand., splash park, pool... etc
And of course still her daddy.
I think this sweet pea always will though.
Same with books. I think she'll always be in love with her books. I should be proud of her but I seriously do get sick of reading books all day long. I have to limit the time we spend by them. And I thought teaching her to read to herself would work but it hasn't yet. And we have a ton of books, you think I wouldn't get bored. But with a ton of books comes a ton of books being thrown at you to read.
And if I don't want to read... for example when I had to lie flat on my back when I threw it out. She'll find away to get me to read to her.
Luckily I knew this one by heart.
Not so luckily she tooted in my face once... (honestly!)
Happy 16 months sweet Rylee!
