A Family Picnic

A while back, well actually labor day, Steve planned out our day and took us to a remote park down in Hastings for a picnic.  It was such a beautiful area and what we liked most about it is that it was just us, besides 2 older gentleman that were fishing.  It was off the beaten path so all you could hear were the crickets and Rylee's silly voice.

So we laid out our blanket, took out our sandwiches and just enjoyed each others company.  I even brought food that would entertain Rylee for a while so we could just enjoy a little down time and chill.  A sandwich which she can't quite eat yet but enjoys trying to tackle, grapes which are slippery and take time... although we tend to stuff 10 in our mouth at time and chips which actually involve chewing instead of shoveling them right in.

But before we knew it our quiet time was up and we were crawling all over daddy ready to play horsey and get a move on it.

But first some sweet kisses.

So we went for a tiny little walk and checked out the area a little bit more.

Who knew a bridge could be so fun!

And filled with anxiety for Mom and Dad as she would hobble over to the edge looking over pointing at the moss and algea that grew below.  I was sure if she fell in she'd come up with 11 fingers and a 3rd ear.

But she didn't as to be expected.

But we did have to head out early and not because of Rylee.  Because of me.  When you are in a remote site and you a pregnant and you just enjoyed a 12 oz coffee and finished a bottle of water...

well... you just have to go.  I'll leave it at that.
