The News Is Out

Steve and I found out we were pregnant August 29th. The Monday after Freiborg Family Fun weekend. My family I think is quite hillarous, others might think we are just, well weird. But, we name all our major get togethers.

1. Freiborg Family Fun weekend: the one weekend we for sure all get together in the summer.
2. Freiborg Family Winter Classic: Christmas time.
3. Freiborg Family Spring Fling: Easter time.

Well I was not quite on my game that weekend, I was feeling lousy, a super big bum, a little quiet and well boring. I didn't think anything of it until that Sunday night. I mentioned something to Steve and he just dismissed me. Like he normally does :) So I secretly went after work on Monday, bought a test, ran into the house b-lining it straight to the bathroom (ps... where does b-lining come from, what does the "b" even mean) anyways, I figured it would be nothing but the unknown was killing me. So I sat in our tiny little bathroom off our bedroom and waited.

I got up.

Looked down.

Saw it.

Looked in the mirror wide-eyed.

Said to myself in the mirror, "NO WAY!"

Looked down

Looked back up in the mirror, bigger eyes.

Said to myself again, "NO WAY!"

Then grabbed the evidence, hid it, grabbed the video camera (came up with that idea in the car as I day dreamed about telling Steve not thinking I'd actually be telling Steve) went out to Steve and.... he was hanging out with Nick. Dang it. I don't want Nick to find out at the same time. FYI Nick if you remember is the 19 year staying with us.

The rest of the night the two cooked supper, we ALL ate, we ALL watched a movie, the two went for a work out, and then the two decided to just chat it up. Meanwhile I was going crazy with this, well, life changing news. I decided to pretend to go to bed thinking that might pull Steve away... nothing. Told him I'm going to bed.... nothing. Next I yelled, Good Night, in a tone not so nice. He came. With a toothbrush in his mouth.

I looked at Steve with the video camera.

He looks back confused.

I hand him the evidence.

He looks down at it confused.

He cocks his head, squints his forhead, ponders, then...

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah."

"Are you serious!?"

"I'm for real."

"No way!"

Then he tackles me into bed for a huge hug. And we have a moment.

Since we had such a good time watching our video over and over again, we'd thought we'd tape us telling our families the news. So glad we did. Love watching the different reactions of everyone. Below are the videos of telling our parents.

Rick and Iris: Quick background. We told them over their 40th anniversay weekend over labor day. Rick loves Pepsi so I made a label quick that morning before we left and gave it to them as a present.

This is the label.
Randy and Steph: No background. We couldn't think of anything clever. There was confusion between Steve and I so just dismiss the first 15 seconds.
