Mastering the Gator

A week or so ago, Rylee and I took a break and headed to my sisters down in Iowa.  We rarely get down there... maybe twice a year so we were all excited.  It was a great 4 hour trip down.  Rylee did great, she slept, ate and watched videos on my phone while I enjoyed my cup of coffee and peace and quiet.

Then we got down there, played a tiny bit, and then they all got sick with the flu so we busted out early the next morning, prayed we wouldn't catch that nasty thing, and headed to my parents which is another 2 hours away.  We had one successful, fun, adventurous day.  Then the next morning Rylee got the flu and then I was ever so blessed to get it that night.

But we are focusing on the positives these days.  The flu was a quick one-day-and-done event.  And on a more positive note we saw Rylee's crazy driver self come out at my parents.  She finally got a chance to learn how to drive the gator!  Usually her older cousins just take her for rides, but since I'm way too huge these days she resorted to learning herself.

I tried teaching her but turns out she was stubborn and didn't want to listen. (figures.) So Grandpa, the all mighty, told me to watch and learn. (barf.)  I was secretly praying for him to fail for my own gratification but thank goodness he succeeded.  And I should tell you, he told Rylee the same EXACT thing I was.  But it was Grandpa so we had to listen.

She somewhat got the jist of it.  She can now push the peddle down but has no idea on the concept of turning the wheel, so she ended up going around and around and around.

And around.

Grandpa started out helping her turn but then decided he had too many chores around the house so I  was left, as an 8 month along, chubby pregnant lady, to run after her, or along side her.  Do you know what happens when I run these days?!  Better left unsaid for internet discretion.

But it was worth it because she had a blast.
