On Saturday, Steve and I grabbed a coffee, stopped 3 times for potty breaks, and headed down to Onalaska for some family time and shower time!!
It was such a fun weekend. Saturday we hung out at my sister and brother-in-law's place watching Finding Nemo, which I found myself really getting into, and coloring. Then Sunday, Steve and I woke up at the butt-crack of dawn, before sunrise, with the time change, so exhausted, completely zombie-like, and headed across the river to Le Crescent where we took our Maternity pictures with Laura Kleffman Photography. Can't wait to show you these tomorrow.
Then we went back to Steve's parent's place and crashed for a few hours on the couch. I only managed an hour of sleep before my nice bladder woke me up again while Steve continued to curl up on the fetal position on a small little chair sleeping for an additional hour. So jealous how he can sleep anywhere in any position.
Then at noon, the fun began. The fun being the shower that my favorite Mother-in-law in the world, Iris, threw for us. It was beautiful. She matched the nursery theme that we have and went all out on gray, white and yellow.
It was adorable. There was really amazing food too. A couple a quiches, BLT sandwiches, fruit, bagels and cream cheese, coffee cake, muffins, bread, cookies, and these really good melt in your mouth cupcakes. I think I gained an additional 10 lbs yesterday. Then they had a drink bar with my favorite coffee in the whole wide world, Gloria Jeans, a cappuccino slush, milk, juice, water... basically anything and everything.
We were spoiled.
And I might have to get a few recipes.
Then we played some fun games, Baby ABC's, Baby Bingo, Finish the Nursery Rhyme... which I tried to throw the red flag and challenge. But it didn't work. They must have it all wrong in Wisconsin and not like us in Minnesota.
Then onto the presents. And holy-moly were there presents. Again I left feeling way more prepared and relaxed about the coming day. Plus, Steve and I were super excited to get our stroller and car seat. Yeah, we can for sure bring baby home from the hospital!
Thanks to everyone from this weekend. Especially Iris, Barb and Beth for throwing it. Love you guys.
