The Year of the Medical Bill

2014 has decided to be the year of the medical bill for us. So I'm already reserving insurance as my thing to be thankful for next Thanksgiving.

In less than a week, we have made several visits to the doctor. One being Rylee. She dislocated her elbow. We were merely playing and lifted her up by her hands when she started crying. For the rest of that night we couldn't figure out what was hurting her but she was for surely favoring her one arm so we headed to the Doctor the next day.  She knew right away what it was and manuevered rylee's arm and Wa-La... back to normal.

The second one was a little scarier. Hudson spiked a fever last night to 101. So we called and they sent us immediately to Children's ER. Luckily a friend came and stayed with Rylee so we didn't have to bring her.

So in the freezing temp and frigid cold we rush our sweet 5 week old to Children's. Bc of his age they rushed us right through and the nurse visited us shortly after. He basically explained why they needed Hudson in right away verses that of say someone Rylee age... lack of a strong immune system.

Then the testing began.

Oh the test...

Painful tests.

Ones I should have never stayed in the room for.

They did a urine test so put a catheder up, blood work so put in an IV line which later was used for antibiotics, a boogie test and finally the Spinal Tap which brought tears to my eyes.

But Hudson was a trooper and made it through and then zonked out hard core from all the hard work.

Then we waited and waited for the test  results to come back and after all of that he tested negative and we were sent home with tylenol.

We made a follow up visit with our pediatrician today and go back for the second round of antibiotics tomorrow.  We are waiting for some final test results but they are hopeful that its just a virus. And we are praising our great Lord for that.

So here is to you 2014. Praying and hoping the remainder of the 51 weeks is nothing like the first.
